Mosin-Nagant M91/30 rifle

This is the same mechanism as the M1944 carbines, but in a long rifle. It was on sale for $79.99 at Big 5 Sporting Goods as a collector's bundle with a socket bayonet and other accessories. I haven't done much with it yet but may try the P.I.G. match at Clark Rifles with it in the future. I used it in the Axis vs. Allies match on Veteran's Day weekend in 2003 but blew the rapid-fire stage. Lately I've been having more luck with the VZ24 Mauser.

UPDATE: This rifle is no longer part of my collection, but I'll leave this page up for reference 'cause it's a good rifle at a shockingly-low price. After installing a Mojo MicroClick rear sight, juggling trigger parts with other Mosins in my collection, and adding the usual slip-on recoil pad, I used this rifle to win "First Place" (technically, with the bonus points for the bayonet - counting actual holes in paper I placed third overall) in the 2004 Allies vs. Axis Match. For a time this was the most accurate rifle in my collection. But then, in late October 2005, I gave it to my sister (not least 'cause she bailed me out from a couple severe bouts of unemployment, but also 'cause she's getting pretty durn good and should have a decent highpower rifle to go with her .22s), for eventual use in the 2006 PIG.
