I occasionally find myself attending SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) events, and this sword was purchased at one of them. I built the scabbard and baldric myself from some salvaged wood, a belt and a frog. The blade is mirror-polished spring steel.
I probably know just enough about swordfighting to get myself messily killed, but it's a pretty sword, especially with the brass pommel and guard polished up. Someday I'll do more work on the scabbard, giving it a better finish, maybe some brass fittings.
