RIFLEMAN'S JOURNAL - DECEMBER 2017
The World Sucks
Just as a faithful reader PayPals me a big fat donation,
which was going to cover the next electric bill,
one of my non-system hard drives - I still can't tell which,
because both of them seemed to wink in and out of system recognition
(pretty sure it's the 750Gb Seagate refurbished from FreeGeek
(NO MORE SEAGATES - EVER)) -
begins making That Horrible Clicking Noise.
Fortunately I had a brand-new-in-the-wrapper 1Tb sitting around for months, which I've now slapped in,
and a 1Tb portable, which together should barely contain All My Stuff.
But, having suffered (SEAGATE) drive failures before,
and being quite tired of the universe constantly pooping on me and my meager-but-precious Stuff,
I had to go and order another - an apparently-new 2Tb
(WESTERN by-gawd DIGITAL) recommended by blogbrother SMLE Fan.
Fortunately SMLE Fan sent me a link to one on eBay for little more than half the price
of a comparable product at Walmart or Amazon. That should arrive in a week.
Now I'll be up late watching progress bars creep across my screens,
hoping they actually finish.
Seriously, universe, f*** you.
On campus, calling for the extermination of people of a certain skin color is "not racist".
But it's "racist" to call a savage a savage.
In Old Media, disgusting lies and vicious hate. And they wonder why we keep buying more guns.
Same with "mainstream" "entertainment".
It's still not Republican NRA members going on foul-mouthed shooting rampages.
Years ago I made this cartoon about the effects of immigration on the workforce and then this happens. Which segues to:
"You're looking at the end of Europe." And the same thing here. Which segues to:
In Lighter News
More free Matt Bracken books soon.
EBT cards, the welfare system, the Free Stuff Army... "...[W]e have the wolf by the ear, and we can neither hold him, nor safely let him go." The situation is reversed from Jefferson's time - those who work for a living and pay taxes, at government gunpoint, on the wages they earn, are effectively slaves to the parasites who will burn everything down if the handouts stop coming.
By which I mean, Michael G. sends, "Nothing says 'anti fascist' like using violence to suppress speech you disagree with." You know those thugs have EBT cards. And so do their mothers in whose basements they live. Years ago someone else observed, they want to destroy the machine that's keeping them alive.
Immigrants Contributing to Society right here in this horrible place. What are the odds I've been on a city bus with this animal? And what are the odds he still has an EBT card full of my taxes? While I'm barely hanging on, doing work I hate for not enough money to pay the rent.
The place where Australia used to be. Not Lighter News because the Rabbi can now expect criminal charges of "assault" and "racism" and "Islamophobia" and so forth.
Michael G. sends, "A company wants to bring more water to California but the Obama administration put road blocks in their way. Now Trump administration removes the road blocks, so the California state government as well as sue-happy Green groups are trying to create new ones." While still complaining of "drought" and demanding more tax dollars. Remember that evil plot from the first Superman movie about detonating nukes in the San Andreas fault and causing California to slide into the Pacific? Would that be such a bad thing really?
Show and chat every Sunday 1100 Pacific Time.
MidWestReader sends range report: "Tried a S&W M&P 2.0 in .45 ACP. It points well and balances well and some may like the much more aggressive texturing on the frame. It is not fatiguing to shoot and was for me quite accurate. On the other hand the trigger is mediocre beyond having a perceptible reset. Also on close examination I am puzzled by an aspect of the magazine design. Double stack handgun mags tend to have a portion near the top where the mag tube is folded in on either side to help the cartridges transition from a double stack to a single feed position. On 9mm or .40 mags these folds are short. On the M&P .45 mag these folds go nearly the full length of the mag tube. One gets the impression this mag could have held 13-14 rounds if those folds were only on the top third, and that it's basically a singlestack mag with room for a couple extra cartridges at the very bottom of the tube. I wonder how this came about. I'm sure S&W's engineers would have made it higher capacity if they could have. Maybe it wasn't reliable until they did this? I don't know.
"Got to examine a used Beretta APX in 9mm. It points and balances well and the trigger is tolerable if not great--like a well broken in Glock trigger, I suppose. The gun itself is fugly even by striker-fired plastic gun standards, however. Gone are the Beretta 92's exposed barrel and sweeping Art Deco curves. The APX looks like the unholy offspring of an HK P30 and a Toblerone chocolate bar. It looks like something designed deliberately to be as aesthetically displeasing as possible."
Yeah, it looks like both those older hard drives need replacing.
Both were either refurbished or salvaged years ago. So ordering the new 2Tb was necessary.
At least this time I saved all my Stuff. I still have a couple Seagate Barracuda drives,
with that firmware timebomb that was in tech news a few years back,
with Stuff trapped on them which I fortunately don't actually need.
Presently I'm running Linux Mint 18, with an even older 80Gb (Seagate...) as the system drive,
and all my Stuff on physically separate drives so if the system drive, or the operating system, fails,
it doesn't affect more than a handful of my Stuff. Now I have a brand-new Western Digital 1Tb internal,
and temporarily, a WD 1Tb external I've had for a few years but rarely used,
and a new refurbished-but-with-excellent-reviews 2Tb WD internal on the way.
That should settle things for a while.
Until the next thing goes horribly and expensively wrong.
I'm sure there's some way, roundabout if necessary, to convert EBT funds to Amazon credit. I mean, you can get cash from ATMs with an EBT card, then go inside the same supermarket the ATM is bolted to the outside of, buy a prepaid credit card from the tower of gift-and-service cards, go to the customer service desk and load it with the cash. All of which is our taxes.
The GOPe is useless, Chapter MMMMMCCLXXXI. "If you were the GOP congressional leadership and WANTED to lose both the House and the Senate in 2018, how would you do it?" By backstabbing the millions of patriotic gunowners who put you there, that's how. More of us every cycle are staying home and cleaning our rifles on election day.
Because, of the Four Boxes, the first is banned, the second is stuffed, and the third is rigged.
Which segues to:
A few times I've said a military coup was not the worst thing I could imagine for this country. That statement may be in need of revision.
Hey even more poison-pill backstabbing, adding GUN REGISTRATION to concealed-carry reciprocity.
MASSIVE VOTE FRAUD
It's still not Republican NRA members and still nobody wants to talk about that.
The next time someone tells you how good that latest movie was....
The kind of people who don't want spouses able to defend themselves from their abusers....
Back here I was listening to a radio station in Kansas and aside from the brainwashing government-school PSAs they also had some encouraging veterans to seek assistance from a government agency known to hire incompetents and criminals. And other sociopaths who play video games or laugh out loud while our most honorable citizens die in agony.
Meanwhile in the place where Britain used to be (which also has that wonderful "single"-"payer" government-run "health" "care" system), Michael G. sends: “...[I]t was not the school’s common practice to provide soap for pupils’ hand-washing, toilet roll in the toilets or suitable drinking water.”
But restricting immigration is "racist".
The left really believes their own lies. They need to believe. Their world can't work any other way... and they're not capable of seeing that it doesn't work in the first place.
They are all delusional hypocrites. Like I said.
It's not "racist" if it's true.
I'm anti-prohibition, but my position on abortion shifted after the Planned Parenthood baby body parts for sale news came out, and these people are not shifting it back.
Years ago I wrote, "Sol continued the tour, showing off his own quarters in one entire section of the forward grav-ring. With the rings extended, this was accessed by a collapsible elevator car constructed of carbonan and other advanced materials, riding the cables down from the interface to the ring-section. Tina wondered aloud how her mother would feel, knowing a literal hairs'-breadth of material was all that stood between her entire family and hard vacuum. She snapped another holo." Years later I added, "...[T]ook shuttles to the planet's surface, erecting emergency shelters from ships' stores.... By stages, the pirates were removed from the ships and transferred to the second planet's surface and the habitats still being erected there. They were, in very-ancient pirate terms, marooned, without so much as a spacesuit, only life-support." Working on it.
Hey looks like one of the places I've been parking other people's cars at
doesn't want me to come back anymore. Not that I really liked that place anyway.
Gripping hand is, Even Less Income.
And then forcing you, at the point of a government gun, to use immature, unstable and unaffordable technologies...
...to comply with their hypocritical delusions.
Such as government running the schools.
Which are "...kind of perfect for mass shooters." Think about the kind of people who don't want you able to defend yourself.
Now think about the kind of less-than-humans who will not defend themselves.
Of which Michael G. sends an anniversary example.
On campus, refusing to ignore leftist political violence is, somehow, right-wing political violence.
And as if on cue.
Speaking of tax dollars, this is from nearly seven years ago but remains true: Real Space Enthusiasts Hate NA$A. A hundred, or a thousand, competitors to put tax-eating bureaucrats completely out of business. Faster, please.
Speaking of the benefits of free-market competition, the United States Concealed Carry Association provides legal defense for decent people who use firearms in self defense and are then persecuted by their government "protectors". The National Rifle Association came out with their own version, Carry Guard, and booted the competition from the NRA Annual Meeting. Comes now a new competitor.
Which segues to important self-defense action in Wyoming. What sick pervert invented the "duty to retreat"?
Free Bracken ebooks now.
It's the Jeffersonian and SMLE Fan Skype Show!
3:08 PM Jeffersonian: https://triggeredmedia.tumblr.com/post/168221556847/arroz-tabby-jdkwjdksnfk-kitty-at-three-cans-of
3:10 PM SMLE Fan: from what I see, "three cans of tuna" is but the appetizer course
3:10 PM Jeffersonian: police guns found in bathrooms, cougarkittehs found on porches, why do these things never happen to us?
3:11 PM SMLE Fan: srsly
3:11 PM Jeffersonian: must... boop... ubernose....
3:12 PM SMLE Fan: and don't forget: not merely jellybeenz, but JELLYBEENZ
3:12 PM Jeffersonian: UBERBEENZ
3:14 PM SMLE Fan: [following morning, makes emergency appt with dentist to reset the three fillings that worked themselves loose because of the low-frequency vibrations due to uberpurring]
ON THIS DAY
How my world works,
Hey look another big European war!
Student suspended for slandering white Republican NRA membersOH. WAIT.
Yeah, when I said a military coup would not be the worst thing for the country, that was in comparison to eight cursed years of the racist Marxist usurper. Now, I take it back.
Burn the government schools....
Michael G. sends the Baghdad Bob Moment o' the Day. And the Authorized Journalists really believe.
A while back I made this meme:
Earlier I opined on the same topic:
Michael G. sends
that very thing.
Don't go to college.
“Advocates for illegal immigrants are unrepentant after yesterday’s shocking acquittal on all homicide charges of an illegal-alien confessed killer.”
"They don't care if their citizens are dying on the streets."
And now I'm stuck in a sanctuary city too.
"In its current form, we absolutely oppose HR 38." "...[U]sing the recent tragedies in Las Vegas and Texas to attempt to create the largest federal gun database this country has ever seen." I too would rather lose reciprocity than "gain" gun registration, because the only reason to register is, eventually, to confiscate. "...[A]s long as the advocates of new restrictions appear to be operating in bad faith, we cannot give them any ground."
Speaking of bad faith, the Lairds of Fairfax have the gall to question the ideological purity of an outfit that actually has some.
So it looks like that Roy Moore thing really has been deliberately faked. Think about the kind of people who would do such a thing.
By which I mean, a few moons ago someone on the internet told the leftists, "You're not the Resistance, you're the Empire." Michael G. sends something that reminded me of that.
Remember, peasant, private citizens using personal firearms to defend themselves is a fantasy that never happens. And think about the kind of people who don't want you to.
Hey remember when Al Gore said "global" "warming" would cause all the polar bears to drown?
Which segues to, a hundred competitors to put the tax-eating social-engineering "global"-"warming"-data-faking bureaucrats of NA$A completely out of business. FASTER. PLEASE.
Nearly two decades ago I wrote "Robotic baggage carts followed travelers from ticket counter to gate to ship." That is an actual thing now.
Football, NASCAR, the Olympics, television, movies, even music and comic books... the left appears to be methodically and deliberately destroying every major entertainment institution in America by alienating the customers. Why? Did they really believe this backlash wouldn't happen, that theirs was the majority opinion, that all of us agreed with their bigoted delusions? Or is it part of some grand convoluted plan that would never occur to sane, decent people?
Immigrants, Contributing to Society....
"Gaystapo" isn't hyperbole either.
Still more RINO backstabbing and throwing still more of Our Kind under various busses in the mistaken belief it will protect others.
And then Quisling prags. Scroll to the comment from Kevin Starrett of OFF explaining the ideologically-pure position - which is mine also. And I'm sure the enemy is rejoicing in seeing us turn on each other, just as we do when they do the same....
Speaking of ideology, Michael G. sends, "Pay no attention to the mass graves behind the curtain: At SUNY Buffalo, posters announcing a talk on the victims of socialism were torn down or vandalized by campus leftists." Oh I'm sure the campus police will get right on investigating that....
WHAT'S THE DAMN DIFFERENCE ANYMORE?
Some time ago I wrote: "Someone from pre-Escape Terra couldn't tell by looking, but both vehicles were covered with photovoltaic panels masquerading as a glossy finish." That really is being worked on.
Michael G. sends, on campus in Occupied Colorado: "Become a certified eco-social justice leader at UC Boulder. Instead of earning a degree that makes you unable to support yourself, earn one that also makes other people unable to support themselves, and you."
Linked from that, hey remember when blacks and whites had separate drinking fountains?
Immigrants Contributing to Society....
The only good cop is a dead cop.
They all look the same to me.
They keep proving me right.
Col. Kratman returns to columnism.
Beginning 1636: The Vatican Sanction, the latest release in Eric Flint's 1632verse.
Okay, fellow otaku, what anime is this from?
Codrea connects dots between Project Gunwalker and the fabricated witch-hunt against Trump. It's all swamp, all the way down....
...And it always has been. Because at least some of them really believe they're "helping" or "protecting" people.
But it's not about "equal" "rights". It's about power and control. It's about destroying people.
Speaking of control, no, really, Obamacare for the internet.
To which dot connect our brave and noble allies, and anyone who does the right thing.
THERE'S NOTHING HOLDING IT UP and now I'm down to about eight minimum-wage hours a week and that's nowhere near enough.
An important and precedent-setting increment in Delaware. Connect to VCDL's previous work regarding national parks.
As a recovering comicoholic, and through the power of the almighty internets, I have been watching The Punisher, so far through eight of thirteen episodes. Just the other day I was complaining about entertainment generally and Marvel specifically, constantly pushing the total-control, nanny-state agenda, but this show might be something of an exception. (Or not.)
Michael G. and EuroReader M. identify yesterday's mystery anime as New Game.
Speaking of comic books and anime and such, I've been watching RWBY for quite some time. The first season, and much of the second, are light and comical and even silly, but then it turns dark and mature with ancient secrets and evil world-ending plots and girls getting their arms chopped off. Anyway the latest episode, released to YouTube just a couple days ago, has inevitably gone ghey... but in the specific case, she's aligned with the racist genocidal world-ending unhinged villains of the story. Hmm.
It's not "racist" to point out how they really do hate me and want me to die because of the color of my skin.
Several times in these pages I've linked some news item about some deranged social-justice fascists on campus and asked if you would trust your life to a bridge, or airplane, or piece of medical equipment designed and built by such mentally-ill bigots. Michael G. sends another example: "I want her to face the Roman test. Design and build a bridge, then sit in a boat anchored under it while a heavy load passes over it."
Meanwhile in this class-warfare place, "So Oregon's well to do know that private property rights work best in their immediate vicinity. But they still want to inflict liberalism on everyone else? That's the impression I get from this article."
RINO backstabbing on immigration....
No, really, NICS is gun registration. Or more accurately, gun-owner registration. However many lies are told by the creators and maintainers of the database.
So a couple months ago some nut massacred a bunch of people and the "solution" is to make everyone but the nuts even less able to defend themselves.
Incremental action in Ohio.
NSSF supports gunowner registration. But that list of people would never be abused by a tyrannical and overreaching government... RIGHT?
Well, yeah, The Punisher is not the Libertarian Feel-Good Hit of the Season, among other things perpetuating sterotypes like all veterans have PTSD and can't be trusted, and a blatant Tim McVeigh ripoff character, also painted as retarded, conveniently linked to leftist entertainment's delusional stereotypes of NRA members. Well, it's not like I'm being chained to a seat in front of a screen with my eyelids taped open (...yet). "Shooting a senator over a political opinion... does that really sound like Frank Castle to you?" It sure doesn't, but it does sound like a Bernie Sanders supporter....
(Who has the balls to make a film adaptation of John Ross' Unintended Consequences? Now there's a project I would spend Powerball winnings on....)
The University of Wyoming(-of-all-places), where free speech goes to die.
Don't go to college.
Michael G. sends even more: "Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. Typical behavior of an abuser, or a leftist. But I repeat myself."
Speaking of abusers, they're cruel to animals too.
To which dot connect, the other day, here in this horrible place, people marched in remembrance of Kate Steinle, who was murdered by an illegal immigrant, and Portland Police defended communists who attacked the marchers and arrested one of the victims for the "crime" of defending himself. Comes now, in Berkeley where such things are expected, a memorial for Kate Steinle is vandalized. Think about the kind of people who value illegal immigrants over the citizens they murder.
(Which reminds me, there are lots of homeless in Portland also.)
(And it's a sanctuary city too.)
So there was that whole Roy Moore thing in Alabama, with accusers admitting they were taking bribes and faking evidence (and massive vote fraud as usual), and now another conservative judge is under the same kind of attack. All of a sudden. All at once. After a third of a century.
"Principles don't matter. Playing fair doesn't matter. Peaceful protests don't matter. Having the better argument doesn't matter. VOTES DON'T MATTER."
The place where Britain used to be is long overdue for another bloody civil war.
Aaaaaand as if on cue.
Hey you know that Great Pacific Garbage Patch all the envirofascists blow their gaskets over? That's fake too. But they'll force us to believe in it at the point of a government gun.
Speaking of fake, Michael G. sends Hate Crime Hoax Map. Think about the kind of people who would do such things.
Taxation is theft. Especially when the collectors of those taxes constantly spend them on everything but what they're supposed to be for.
Oh look yet another "suicide" connected to the Clinton crime family.
No, really, NICS is gun registration and "fixing" it is not to our benefit.
Years ago I wrote, "Our medical technology can repair almost any injury, cure almost any disease...." Michael G. sends, working on it.
"THE Conventions of a Number of the States having at the Time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a Desire, in Order to prevent Misconstruction or Abuse of its Powers, that further declaratory and restrictive Clauses should be added...."
Still not enough for rent.
That walls-closing-in feeling.
Government "Health" "Care"!
Now think about the kind of people who WANT bureaucrats dictating what the Internet can carry. Most people have not the slightest idea what Net Neutrality is was. Hey! Look! This is the Internet and we're all still on it!
Remember that part in Atlas Shrugged (the book, not the somewhat disappointing film trilogy) in which entertainment was politically-correct, diversity-mandated crap but everyone applauded because they couldn't tell anymore and if they could they'd be condemned for pointing out how crappy it was?
I repeat, think about the kind of people who value illegal immigrant criminals over the innocent American citizens they rape and murder.
As long as I'm repeating myself, automatically believing sexual harrassment allegations against "liberals" and disbelieving them against conservatives is not hypocrisy, but statistics.
And of course, don't go to college, from which Michael G. observes: "Pomona College to re-try student using the exact same procedure a Judge overturned as unfair. But they've put a different kangaroo in charge, which they claim changes everything."
SPACEX LIKE GOD AND THE PROPHET HEINLEIN INTENDED you know I think it looks even cooler from a distance, to give a sense of scale.
Years ago I got about halfway through Shattered Sword, which is now the definitive historical reference work on the Battle of Midway. Here's a bit more on the topic. Consider also the Siege of Wake Island, "The Alamo of the Pacific", in which a relative handful of Marines and civilians, without resupply, held off the Empire for two weeks and even recaptured territory while inflicting an estimated thirteen-to-one casualty ratio.
It's the Jeffersonian and SMLE Fan Skype Show, SuperAntiHero Edition!
5:49 PM Jeffersonian: Inuyashiki
5:49 PM Jeffersonian: as a recovering comicoholic, it's intriguing
5:49 PM Jeffersonian: What Would You Do With Such Power?
5:53 PM SMLE Fan: there's no way I could resist an outbreak of some plague-like thing within the Beltway
5:54 PM Jeffersonian: yeah, Committee for Aesthetic Deletions
5:54 PM SMLE Fan: srsly.....a Correia-like org that travels incognito to various capitols and takes care of things, leaving behind cards that read "A Republic, if you can keep it."
5:55 PM Jeffersonian: do u get that ref?
5:55 PM SMLE Fan: no I did not, although it's tickling right at the edge of remembrance
5:57 PM Jeffersonian: The Prophet's last novel, To Sail Beyond the Sunset
5:57 PM Jeffersonian: wherein Maureen gets zapped to another timeline and conscripted into the org
5:58 PM SMLE Fan: [realizes that self-estimation of reading list was laughably conservative]
5:59 PM Jeffersonian: I SWEAR YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE I CAN TALK TO
5:59 PM Jeffersonian: EVERYONE ELSE IN MY WORLD IS AN ILLITERATE RETARD
5:59 PM Jeffersonian: or a kitteh
On campus this Christmas season, Michael G. observes H. L. Mencken's observation: "Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy."
To which dot connect, even more violent bigotry being officially recognized on campus. “Internationalism means that we stand in solidarity with every single struggle against oppression in the world.” Really? How about communist China oppressing Christians? How about communist North Korea imprisoning whole generations and driving the rest to cannibalism? How about the entire Islamic world oppressing women and raping children? Nope - those don't matter to the "tolerant", "inclusive", "compassionate" crowd.
Don't go to college. Where they really do hate you and want you to die in their own words.
Fake News and Fake Accusations at the same time.
Michael G. sends the schadenfreude karma o' the day.
Adam Kraut is running for the NRA Board of Directors. I've been watching some of his videos and have been pleased with his ideological purity. On one of them I commented that he would be to the NRA BoD as Trump is to the GOP Establishment.
Okay, do I pay the $72.61 electric bill now,
or direct that money toward the $600 rent?
Which it still won't add up to....
To which dot connect, way back when I started this blog, the Appleseed Project was just getting started, and some of the scaled-down targets they were using simulated United Nations "peacekeeping" vehicles.
The Free Stuff Army really has no dirty-word idea how anything works.
Back here I observed how the left is methodically destroying all entertainment by insulting and driving away the customers. Blogbrother SMLE Fan sends the same thing with the Star Wars franchise (possible spoilers (I haven't seen VIII yet)). Which I was already kind of expecting.
Not really Lighter News, Michael G. sends: "'A 180-page document explains the new government's agenda between now and 2022. It promises to crack down on political Islam; to crack down on illegal immigration; to speed up asylum decisions and to sponsor an EU summit on immigration when Austria holds the EU presidency in the second half of 2018.' But is this too little, too late? Preceding Austrian governments (and Angela Merkel) have left them in a big hole. In my opinion their best hope is if the Islamists go nuts in response to these sensible moves, producing the popular and political will to take stronger actions."
But tell me again how it's a "religion of peace".
Which segues to other kinds of immigrants contributing to society.
"Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."
They are all so f***ing ignorant.
And they think we are.
Think about the kind of monsters who don't want you able to defend yourself.
Occupied Massachusetts gets even more occupied. But tell me again how there's no database of guns and gunowners. The ghosts of Lexington and Concord weep....
Footdragging in South Carolina.
Backstabbing from the Lairds of Fairfax and the GOPe too.
So there was a horrible deadly train wreck today. Was it Islam or Antifa? Flip a coin. Aaaaand now they'll be wand-raping little old ladies and sticking their hands down toddlers' pants at the train stations too. Or are they already? I don't travel much.
Hey remember all those taxes taken out of your paycheck to fund your retirement with the Social Security system?
There's nothing holding it up.
And it will all come crashing down.
Wasn't I just talking about leftist brainwashing in entertainment?
Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four was meant as a warning, not an instruction manual, Chapter MMMMMCCXCVI.
Fallen Angels is a science-fiction-fandom-based novel by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, and Michael Flynn, in which one of the plot elements was, the only thing holding off the next ice age was all that human industry and "global" "warming".
"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body, and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." - Thomas Jefferson
Immigrants, Contributing Animal Brothels to Society. It's not "racist" or "Islamophobic" to call them "goat-f***ers" if it's true.
Michael G. sends, the state supreme court of Hawaii-of-all-enemy-occupied-places rules "There Is a Constitutional Right of the Public to Film the Official Activities of Police Officers in a Public Place." Aaaand the police, fearing for their safety, believing the suspect had a weapon, and in accordance with their training and department protocols....
I really hate
this horrible place.
Quarter-century I've been stuck here.
Milo makes a lot of people uncomfortable and that's the general idea. However you feel about him, he is on Our Side and is saying important things. Which also make a lot of people uncomfortable and that's the idea too.
Massive vote fraud....
To which dot connect demographic warfare....
...And society contributing right back.
Getting more work now,
at the parking-other-people's-cars place I hated least.
And then there were actual shouting crazy people on the bus back,
and on the sidewalk between the hovel and the nearest bus stop....
Hey remember how Democrats are the party for minorities and racial equality?
Hey remember when gays only wanted equal rights and were never going to use media and schools to push their agenda on children?
Back when he was writing columns for EveryJoe, Col. Tom Kratman had a series contemplating another American civil war. John Ringo wrote a novel, The Road to Damascus, in Keith Laumer's Bolo universe, which pondered the divide between urban and rural populations and cultures. Michael G. sends another examination.
To which pot stir in immigrants contributing to society.
I do agree that certain people should not be allowed to own guns. There oughtta be a law.
Which segues to Occupied Washington State, where immigrants with no tradition or understanding of American liberty now dictate terms to the people whose taxes they devour, in order to make their new homes as degenerate and violent as the ones they left.
Think about the kind of people who want violent criminals and illegal immigrants to vote - and why.
Which segues to, in the place where Europe used to be, the fundamental principle of democracy is a threat to democracy. Well, democracy is mob rule anyway, our Founders knew that....
I repeat, think about the kind of people who value illegal immigrants over the innocent citizens they murder.
And the kind of people who don't want you able to defend yourself.
Foreign Correspondent Jacob N., Trapped in New York, sends: "Compare and contrast: Michelle Obama makes a surprise visit to school, media and parents says little. Ivanka Trump makes a surprise visit to school, media and parents loose their minds." Later adding: "Fun playing near the edge of the memory hole - note URL: 'Ivanka Trump's school visit forces parents to pull kids from class', the original headline. Then read the title on the article as it stands now on the website: 'Parents pull kids from class as Ivanka Trump visits'. Now, screenshot from Yahoo’s feed:"
But "mainstream" media is unbiased and Republicans are responsible for all this hate.
Not for the first time I see the Humane Society is crooked.
And so are college "economists".
I'm an absolutist on the right to keep and bear arms, and the right to freedom of speech. Agenda-driven speech funded by taxes collected at the point of a government gun isn't free.
Think about the kind of people who value illegal immigrants over the innocent citizens they rape and murder. "Somehow the government went for years without honestly trying to track the volume of crime committed by illegal immigrants in this country." Was it eight years? Between 2009 and 2017?
Still not Republican NRA members and still nobody wants to talk about that.
Hated for the color of my skin....
Which segues to, just the other day I asked if the entertainment industry really believed audiences shared their delusional bigotry.
Blogbrother SMLE Fan observes, "Even when they try to do the right thing, NA$A cannot help being NA$A." Meanwhile SpaceX and Boeing have decided to race each other to Mars....
Not unrelated, Michael G. sends "Global" "Warming".
A while back I wrote: "Next they toured the Pacific Coast of what had been the United States of America. San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge had fallen during the War of Unification, and the Terran Empire had never bothered rebuilding it; why make it easier for the subjects to travel? The remains had stood derelict for a century, until the Republic-Empire War and the Liberation. After the Empire's multiple genocides, population pressure had dropped a great deal on Terra; real-estate prices had fallen accordingly. After Liberation, Jeffersonian air-transport technology had replaced ground traffic, making a bridge replacement doubly pointless - the Federal Aviation Administration had been destroyed along with more obvious tyrannies." And earlier: "Smoke clouded the air and rubble choked the streets – They still use streets, he thought; without swarms of bureaucrats and gangs of uniformed thugs to tell them they couldn't, the Republic had used personal air transport since the Founding, and had never scarred their worlds with slashes of road." Yes, that is what I meant.
Larry Correia's Christmas Noun.
Of course there are people - Our Kind - who are even worse off.
Oh look, a terrorist plot by a Bernie Sanders voter and a convert to Islam. But Trump is eee-vill and we should open the borders.
The Lairds of Fairfax are another swamp to drain.
"Progressives" hate progress and would rather see millions starve than allow them to eat without their bigoted bureaucratic permission.
To which dot connect, a while back I wrote: "Some, unhinged, seemed to be disappointed that their hate-filled fantasies of Lii and the Republic forcing their will on all of Oskran at the point of a kinetic weapon or energy beam were not coming true. Instead the Jeffersonians were evilly, treacherously, maliciously leaving them alone." And that kind of twisted masochistic mindset really exists.
Aaaaaand more hypocrisy.
War on free speech....
War on Christmas....
War on veterans....
War on children....
War on everyone.
It's been observed that the people screaming about "global" "warming" and ice caps melting and polar bears drowning and cities being submerged are the same people who, every couple-three decades, switch to screaming about new ice ages.
On Canada, Michael G. observes "The stupidity of Justin Trudeau. I'm reminded of a bit of dialogue, 'You should be willing to die for your beliefs.' 'But I DON'T believe that!' 'Then you should be willing to die for MY beliefs.'"
Michael G. sends: "'Jackie' still hasn't suffered any punishment, but on the other hand she never would have done so much damage if Rolling Stone hadn't enabled her. So as long as Rolling Stone doesn't find some way to transfer their penalty to tax payers I would call this a win for lighter news."
Speaking of Lighter News, Trump administration cuts United Nations budget. Considering most of what the UN does is bash Jews, rape children, and stand around watching while tribes of jungle savages exterminate each other, I'm okay with fewer of my taxtheft dollars being sent to them.
And then I got out of bed at five AM
to ride a bus
to slip-slide around on an ice-covered lot
to wave a barcode scanner at other people's cars.
For minimum wage.
After nine and a half paid hours of which,
I scrambled across the ice to catch a bus,
to catch a train,
to go to a particular store,
to get the particular cat food,
to get cash back from the payroll debit card,
to scramble across more ice to the bank,
which was just closing as I arrived,
to deposit the money unbacked fiat currency,
so I can pay the electric bill.
I'm getting real tired of this
And every muscle from the waist down hurts,
from all that ice-scrambling.
The place where Britain used to be.
Cold, wet, and aching all over.
The current job appears to expect twelve-to-fifteen-hour days
on a regular basis.
Pretty sure I can't do that anymore.
To which dot connect, Minnesota media fails to mention attacker was a Somali man.
Immigrants Contributing to Society in the place where Australia used to be. Is the drug gallery next door to the animal brothel?
Still not Republican NRA members....
And Don't Go to College, Where Due Process Goes to Dietm!
And then I got up at five AM
to do it all over again
in the rain.
Aaaaaaand "Authorized" "Journalists."
"Real communism has never been tried."
Not unrelated, four months 'til tax time but remember, peasant, you're not paying "your" "fair" "share".
Which segues to, Michael G. sends: "Electoral power not determined by Constitution, voters. According to a lefty billionaire it should be determined by what he wants, along with a 'me, too' chorus that makes up around 1% of the population. And that 1% assumes that no one is electronically 'stuffing the ballot box'. And hasn't that same lefty billionaire said that people who disagree with him should have their voices silenced because he says their views are 'hate speech'? And taken steps to try to do that?" This is why the words "democracy" or "democratic" appear nowhere in our founding documents. Democracy is mob rule which inevitably devolves to aristocracy. Republicanism, checks and balances, defined and restricted powers, is the only system capable of resisting such a fate.
By which I mean "Feminists for Islam." "The enemies of freedom are first recruited from the free societies, from some of the enlightened elites who deny the benefit of democratic rights to the rest of humanity, even to their own compatriots, if they have the misfortune to belong to another religion, to another ethnicity."
To which dot connect Immigrants Endlessly Contributing to Society. What did they think would happen?
But that could never happen here... RIGHT?
Oath Keepers Rifle Raffle.
For years I've been saying - and I'm far from the first - that FABBERS will CHANGE the WORLD.
Aaaaaaand the water heater is leaking.
Because That's How My World Works.
-Fortunately it's only the crimped connection on a hose
on top of the heater, which I can replace my ownself,
if my pay for yesterday ever comes through on the payroll debit card,
because I already spent this morning emptying that,
buying a twenty-pound sack of rice,
to get cash unbacked fiat currency back,
to deposit in the bank,
to pay the internet bill.
...Got that fixed, simply replacing the hose,
from the Good Hardware Store within walking distance.
Until the next thing goes horribly and expensively wrong.
Oh hey! I really am surrounded by illiterate retards! On the bus, in the stores, on the street, in the news, everywhere! I'M NOT IMAGINING IT!
In timely support of which, don't go to college.
In this horrible place, "...[A] misleading ballot title and an election date that was engineered by liberals in Salem to undermine the voting process...." Every day the ratchet clicks a little tighter, every day another light goes out.
"Unfortunately, the NRA does not recognize the simple fact that the Second Amendment is not about hunting, but about avoiding the control of a tyrannical government."
The left is not capable of seeing their own corruption, instead fabricating crimes on the right where none exist.
But these are the creatures they keep inviting in and propping up with their victims' taxes.
Adam Kraut for NRA Board of Directors.
If you're ever in Shreveport....
Thanks to the generosity of a friend, I finally got to see Episode VIII. ...Yeah, kinda disappointing. Following the standard more-visuals less-plot pattern (well, in fairness, Episode IV kinda established that pattern forty years ago but did it better), and derivative of the Original Trilogy in several places (to say nothing of the nonsensical "science" and absurdly-large vehicles (but remember, Star Wars is not science fiction, it's fantasy-with-gadgets)). Also not taking itself as seriously as it should have. Perhaps less SJWery than I was led to expect, except for the whole Canto Bight sequence reminding me of the parasite-rioters right here in this horrible place. As others have said, not a real Star Wars production, but a big-budget fan film. Some of which, in fairness, can be quite good, but this goes back to what I've said earlier this month, about the entertainment industry pooping all over their customers and acting surprised when we stop paying for their crap.
Speaking of parasite-riots, expect some in California, or anywhere else everyone endeavors to live off of anyone else's labor.
"Feminists for Islam." That one may belong in Lighter News except for the constant indoctrination that Muslims are somehow "oppressed" by being given special protections, exemption from laws, and zillions of other people's taxtheftdollars in handouts....
This one also maybe belongs on the other side of the line: psychotic racist bigots turning upon each other. It remains in Suckage because these are the people who force their opinions and delusions on everyone else.
Just last week I observed that progressives hate progress and would rather see millions starve than allow them to eat something the elitist bigots don't approve of. (Which in turn reminds me of having fun wrong....) Now Michael G. sends, "WaPo carries attack on anti-science left? It's by Mitch Daniels, so get set to see him figuratively burned at the stake, along with his largely successful efforts to keep Purdue tuition low while seeing that courses teach actual facts and useful skills." Lots of Kool-Aid-drinkers psychologically-projecting in the comments of course.
Speaking of psychotics sticking their fingers in their ears and humming real loud....
But as long as we're talking about broken clocks, even CNN admits FBI is biased toward Hillary and against Trump.
Everyone's doing year-in-review stuff and I'm seeing things I might have missed. In my fictional future history I postulate cures for cancer. Getting there. Cure for HIV too. That would upset some identity-politics grant-money apple carts.... I also wrote, "...Terra's snow leopard, extinct for a century before being restored by a two-century-old Jeffersonian gene bank dating back to the Escape...." Working on that also.
Adding Massachusetts Gun Rights to my front and links pages.
It's not paranoia if
they really are out to get us
for the color of our skin.
MidwestReader sends range-and-stores report: "I went to the range yesterday and rented a Gen 5 Glock 19.
"Pros: no finger grooves.
"Better than average Glock trigger out of the box (apparently Glock has changed the geometry of the firing pin plunger bits to smooth takeup a bit).
"Cons: very consistently shoots between 3" and 4" low, and between 3" and 4" left, for me. Other firearms don't shoot way off in that direction for me.
"Hit me in the face with hot brass a couple of times each mag, to the point where after a couple mags I was struggling not to start flinching, also dropped hot brass behind my eyeglass lenses, also over my head and down the back of my shirt collar.
"In one hundred rounds of decent quality Brazilian 'Magtech' brand FMJ, got two (2) failures to feed, in which the cartridge came out of the magazine but the rear part of the cartridge dropped down and the slide closed on it, with the cartridge case lying against the feedramp.
"Magazine spring is very stout and getting the last three rounds in without a loading tool is a challenge, though that's minor compared to everything else.
"To be completely fair, they told me at the counter that it's an extremely popular rental gun and has seen many thousands of rounds since they acquired it. It is rode hard and put away wet, and not cleaned or lubricated until customers complain that it is malfunctioning, which they say doesn't happen much. The gun was absolutely filthy, caked with carbon fouling, so maybe that had something to do with it. Maybe foreign matter of some kind (carbon fouling?) is keeping the extractor from moving the way it's designed to and it needs a good cleaning and a drop or two of oil. Maybe.
"Meanwhile at a Cabela's store, I saw an object of totally unreasonable Gun Lust: the new Colt Series 70 Competition Model. Saw one of the blued ones. The picture is inaccurate and seems to depict the 2016 version, which was a Series 80 with Melonite type black nitride finish on frame and slide. The 2017 version is blued, with traditional Colt polished flats and matte round surfaces. Their asking price was $899, which was MSRP, but then again these are VERY thin on the ground and not many retailers can even get one right now. It had a very nice crisp trigger. The setup is minimalistic by factory semi-custom 1911 standards today: a trigger spec'd at six pounds or less, an extended manual safety strong-side only, a beavertail, an impressively small adjustable rear sight that fits in a Novak cut, a fiberoptic front sight. Supposedly it's built around a Gold Cup barrel, though neither the slide-to-frame fit nor the bushing fit nor the barrel hood fit was terribly impressive to me, but I suppose there has to be a bit of slop in order to function. The grips are functional and feel perfectly okay, but bright blue Micarta with enormous Colt logos seems almost tacky and conjures mental images of guns being assembled from remaindered parts. Maybe they'd grow on me."
